Filter your world
This morning, I turned the red light on and let myself think about the people who “get me,” the ones who see the value I bring and the ones I naturally connect with.
But the longer I sat with it, something else showed up.
Agitation.
Tension.
That feeling in my chest when I think about the people I don’t connect with.
The ones who don’t understand me.
The ones who don’t like me.
And yes, some people don’t like me.
That thought stirred anger.
Then nothing.
Then more anger.
So I shut the red light off.
I wanted the words to come. Something to flip the switch. Something to make me feel different. But nothing came at first.
Then it did.
Let it go.
Let them go.
Tune them out.
Not out of avoidance, out of alignment.
The world is too big to try to take everyone with you.
Too loud to consume every voice.
Too crowded to think every opinion deserves space in your head.
Filter.
That’s the word.
That’s the work.
Filter your world.
Focus on the people who connect with you.
The clients who align with you.
The relationships that move you forward.
The tribe that fits who you are becoming, not who you were trying to please.
You won’t connect with everyone. You’re not supposed to. That’s not weakness, it’s direction.
Filtering isn’t shutting people out.
It’s dialing in the signal so you can actually hear what matters.
Find your tribe.
Find your calling.
Sort your world into focus.
That is the work behind balance.
